One of the most important things Ezra Uganda Assistance does throughout the year is to provide funds for community meals on every Shabbat, Festival, and High Holidays. The Jews in Namutumba are devoted to Jewish practice and coming together to share a meal together is very meaningful to everyone. Gatherings to eat together after worship services reinforce the people’s already strong commitment to living Jewishly and ensures that everyone can partake of a nutritious meal at least once every week.

The annual expenditure of $12,000 - $13,000 goes a long way, making possible around 27,000 individual meals each year. In addition, we have supplied the community with mezuzot and tallitot.
